I'm only reviewing the breakfast buffet they offer. I went here on a Sunday morning, tagging along to a monthly lunch my dad has with his college buddies.Despite studying in UP Diliman for nearly 10 years, I had never actually been to the University Hotel (but had certainly heard of it). I gather that the current version of the breakfast buffet is a relatively recent addition. It also appears to be offered only during weekends (makes sense to maximize guests) and I grabbed a photo of the menu and price at the time that I visited.I don't know the going rate for breakfast buffets nor do I frequent buffets but I think this was pretty solid and the price was commensurate to the quality of the food. I don't consider it expensive nor is it such a great deal that I'd drive every other weekend for it.I particularly enjoyed the hot chocolate and champorado.I think the salted fish fried rice could be a little saltier and the corned beef hash a little crispier but I had repeat servings of both despite my qualms.Service is relatively prompt (and a buffet is largely self-service anyway) but I do think that the egg station could be improved or a faster stove be purchased as I went several times to the egg station to retrieve my omelette order but I was told that my order was still in line. I ended up moving on to desserts and never got to taste the omelette. Alternatively, perhaps have a tray of fried eggs already considering that the guests are primarily locals who would enjoy a silog meal or have table service for eggs.Another note because the Philippines is a humid place: the dining area is well ventilated and I never felt hot and humid despite having a good go at the food, but it's still not air-conditioned so do be aware of this (there are some areas that are but I understand that it's first come, first serve/dibs on tables). If you frequently jog at UP Diliman during the weekend, and are the sort of jogger that goes to a buffet after jogging, definitely give this a try.

Highly recommended.Nostalgic ambience with clean, comfortable, and well-maintained facilities. There are trees around which makes the al fresco dining area cool despite the heat.Attendants and waiters are accommodating.Food in the lunch buffet is diverse and delicious. Best for those attending mass, biking or exercising around the oval, or simply just want to go UPD.Sana lang more drinks available, and fruits served cold.Ala cart food does not disappoint - great taste and serving for the price.Sulit, and will definitely go back.

The university hotel appears to have been refurbished. The restaurant has no airconditioning but it has the fresh, airy vibe of a huge shaded terrace. Great for having cold beers! The generous servings are of Filipino fare. The couple of us had an excellent pancit canton, the best seller, as well as meaty dinakdakan. The place also serves sisig, kaldereta, and other favorites. But my company was an historian endeavoring to return to her youthful silhouette, and so restraint was exerted in ordering food, especially since the portions were large. The salads are delicious, and the crunchy meatless nachos--there is a version with meat--are generously topped with cheese and fresh tomatoes. I would go there any time to try their cocktails and the other dishes.
